Mission Statement Discovery Ministries exists to enable individuals and groups to grow to be like Jesus through challenge and recreation. --adopted September 2005 Purpose Discovery Ministries uses Gods creation as a classroom and a teacher to introduce people to God as their Lord, Savior, and Creator and to help them mature spiritually, intellectually and physically to become the men and women God desires in His Kingdom. Discovery Ministries seeks to help people become caring of others, the environment and themselves; courageous and faithful, yet humble; responsible for their lives and decisions; purposeful and moral decision makers; and understanding of who they are and what their responsibilities are in relationships to God and others. Discovery Ministries strives toward these purposes through a variety of programs such as: - 2 - 14 day recreational trips or intensive challenge trips including activities such as backpacking, caving, canoeing, mountain biking and rock climbing in the Ozarks and other areas of the country.
- 1 - 7 day retreats at Discovery Ministries base camp near Eminence, Missouri, where activities such as group initiatives, ropes courses, canoeing, caving, and climbing can be utilized.
- Family-centered programs such as family camps, couples retreats, D.A.D.S. trips, family vacations, family reunions, and recreational activities.

- The person of the Holy Spirit and His work of conviction, regeneration, and sanctification; and His indwelling of every believer;
- The necessity of the new birth, in God. s gift of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ alone, repentance of sins, obedient baptism, and the importance of a life committed to the will of God.
