Alley Spring and Alley Spring Mill

Alley Spring and the accompanying mill, often called the Old Red Mill, are a part of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. It is located near Eminence, the county seat of Shannon County, Missouri. The water issuing from this spring is usually crystal clear and pours forth at the rate of 81 million gallons a day. If you have only one day to visit in the Ozarks, visit this spot.

The Mill at Alley Spring is open to the public weekends during fall and spring and daily during the summer. An authentic one room school house sits 1/8 mile from the mill and spring. As the school is staffed by volunteers, it is open sporadically. If you want to see the school house, try on weekends spring, fall, or summer.
