Map to Discovery Ministries

Please see right for visual maps. Written driving directions follow. Discovery Ministries is in very hilly country. The roads we suggest may seem like the long way around. However, taking into consideration car sickness possibilities and the need to drive more slowly because of road conditions, these really are the best routes!!

From Springfield, MO. and the states of Kansas and Oklahoma:

Take Highway 60 East out of Springfield. Near Willow Springs, Highways 60 and 63 divide, watch for signs and stay on 60. Travel through Mountain View--which contains a small Wal-Mart, Blimpies, Pizza Inn, Sonic, McDonalds. After the town of Birch Tree, travel 4 more miles, until signs for E Highway. Take E North (left)10 miles. Discovery Ministries will be on the West (left).

From Rolla:

If you are wanting a break between Rolla and Discovery Ministries, travel South on 63 to Houston--which has a small Wal-mart, Arby's, McDonalds, etc. Take Hwy 17 East (turn left) until Summersville. In Summersville, turn East (left)onto 106 Hwy. After you cross the 106 Hwy bridge going over the Jacks Fork River by Alley Spring, look for Highway E at the top of the next large hill. Take E Highway South (right) one mile. Discovery Ministries will be on the West (right).

If you are wanting to drive straight through from Rolla to Discovery Ministries, travel South on 63 to Licking, and then 3 miles fartherturn East (left) onto P Highway. P Hwy ends at 137 Highway, turn South (right) onto 137. Travel on 137 until 1 mile or so after Yukon, where 17 and 137 divide. Take 17 Highway east (left) (this won't seem like a turn, the highway just continues) until Summersville.

From St. Louis:

Take I-44 West out of St. Louis. At Rolla, Take 63 South. Then follow the "from Rolla Directions."

From Kansas City:

It's your call. We think the faster route is through Springfield, but some people really like the Columbia/Jefferson City/Rolla route. Either way, use the directions from Springfield or Rolla and you'll get to us.

Map of the camp is at the bottom.

From Southern Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Cape Girardeau, MO, etc.:

Find your favorite route to Sikeston, Missouri, which is at the confluence of Highways 62, 57, 55, and 60. Whichever you arrive on, take Hwy 60 West through Poplar Bluff (last Wal-Mart before Discovery Ministries, also fast food places), through Van Buren (has a small McDonalds along the highway). At Winona travel 5 more miles on 60 until signs for Highway E. Take Hwy E North (right), travel 10 miles. Discovery Ministries will be on the left.

From Arkansas:

You have a few choices which boil down to: what is the best way you can get to Missouri's Highway 60? From Fort Smith area, we might suggest getting to Springfield, MO, first and then using the "from Springfield" instructions. From Little Rock, we've taken 64 north to Bald Knob. Then 167 north until it changes to 62 through to Hardy. Then at Hardy, taking 63 through Mammoth Springs to Thayer. At Thayer, you have a choice of very curvy, car-sicky Highway 19 or not-so-bad 63. Both of these connect with Highway 60. From 19 turn West (left) on 60, travel 4 miles and turn North (right) onto E Highway. Discovery Ministries is 10 miles up on the West (left). From 63, travel East on 60 through Mountain View and Birch Tree. Four miles after Birch Tree will be Highway E. Take E North (left). Discovery Ministries is 10 miles up on the West (left). From Jonesboro, take 63 to Thayer, then follow the instructions listed above from there.
