Statement heard in the Port-au-Prince airport: "I'm sure glad we went to Discovery Ministries for our training." Overheard by a friend of DM boardmember Mike Killebrew.
I have been to Christ In Youth, Group Workcamps, Big Stuf in Florida, etc. Discovery has been the trip that has left the most lasting impression on these kids. I really think it has to do with removing them from their environment. I talk about Discovery all of the time at church. The kids and I see it as a spiritual oasis to connect or re-connect with God.--SL, Youth Minister, Illinois
We had a great time at D.M. Many of our kids did not know each other and it was a melting pot of students so it was good for us to spend time together. I thought the DM activities our group participated in reinforced the thought of making scripture intake a bigger part of their lives.--MK, Youth Minister, Indiana
In nearly 15 years of Student Ministry I have never been part of a camp experience where I had no complaints – except DM. DM is completely awesome at what they do and the staff they have assembled are in the right place doing precisely what God has called them and gifted them to do--Greg, Grace Community Church
We had our first FCA meeting of the 2009-2010 school year last night...the kids were very excited at school today and ready for the next meeting. My leaders are becoming leaders and taking on responsibilities. I am very thankful that we chose DM for our summer leadership camp!--Gideon FCA
I saw several realize they were able to push themselves physically allowing them to see that they could push themselves spiritually. The staff and interns at DM have helped us grow spiritually, the way they conduct the activities and the debriefing after the activities...I wanted to say how much fun I had a camp! My life is always better and changed when I leave.--CL, River Valley
We had a good retreat. The facilities were great. The campfire worship and speaking time was great for us spiritually. The group interaction was good and the talks really made us think. Our only change would be our schedule. 2 ˝ days just wasn't enough time to meet our goals…. We should have planned more times to sit as a group and talk and reflect on the day.-Tricia, Community Christian Church
We were working with the kids on what it means to be the church and I can think of nothing better to drive "being the church" home than your high ropes course and group initiatives. Sitting and listening about "being the church" can only go so far but your efforts with our group gave some hands on lessons that won't be easily forgotten. Thank you very much!--Jeremiah and the Rock Garden Group
